Jeff A. Rosenkranz
Co-Founder · Managing Partner · Founded Metronome in 2010Jeff founded Metronome in 2010 and has more than 30 years of investment banking experience. He ran Merrill Lynch's middle-market M&A group in Chicago, executing over 100 M&A transactions, and his experience spans manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, consumer products, food & beverage, and business services.
At Piper Jaffray, Jeff served for six years as Head of M&A and Chairman of the Opinion Committee; he later served as a Managing Director at Piper Sandler before founding Metronome. He has served on numerous corporate boards, has acted as an expert witness in legal matters, appears on CNBC, MSNBC, and Bloomberg TV, is quoted extensively in the written press, and has been profiled in Portfolio magazine and Mergers & Acquisitions Journal. Jeff graduated with honors from Washington University (BSBA Finance, 1981–1984) and earned his MBA with honors from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University (1984–1986). He previously headed the Washington University Alumni Board of Governors and served on the University's Board of Trustees. An avid runner with more than 50 marathons and a passionate Chicago Cubs fan — decades of futility, one season of bliss — Jeff is married with two sons and lives in Chicago and Florida.
Randy H. Karchmer
Co-Founder · Managing Partner · Joined March 7, 2011 · Opened Memphis OfficeRandy spent 17 years at Morgan Keegan, where he was responsible for the M&A and Financial Sponsors practice for his entire career — advising middle-market public and private companies and private-equity portfolio companies across a breadth of industries and specialty niches. A frequent speaker on M&A and private equity.
Before Morgan Keegan, Randy practiced as a corporate attorney at Much Shelist Denenberg Ament & Rubenstein in Chicago. He is a founder and former President of the Memphis chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), serves on the Board of Directors of Metal Technologies, Inc., serves on the Advisory Board of Ratner Companies — the largest family-owned and operated chain of hair salons in the U.S. with nearly 1,000 units — and previously served on the board of the La Madeleine restaurant chain. Randy earned his BS in Accounting with highest distinction from Indiana University — Peat Marwick Most Outstanding Accounting Award, Senior Scholar, School of Business, Beta Gamma Sigma — and his JD from Northwestern University School of Law. He is a CPA (inactive), lives in his hometown of Memphis with his wife and three sons, and bleeds Memphis Tigers basketball.
